CLA 217 RELIGION IN GREECE AND ROME

An exploration of the religious beliefs and practices of the ancient Greeks and Romans. Students will be exposed to the historical and social context of ancient religion and the archaeological and literary sources and methods for studying ancient rituals and beliefs. Topics include public and private worship, festivals, sacred spaces, priests and priestesses, and mystery cults.
