CLA 206 WOMEN IN THE ANCIENT WORLD

An exploration of women’s lives in ancient Greece and Rome, from the prehistoric Aegean to the late Roman Empire. Students will examine both literary and material evidence, in order to investigate the legal, economic, and social standings of women alongside the mythic, literary, and religious representations of human and divine female figures.
