ART 213 SOUND ART

An open workshop for artists, tinkerers, and students from all backgrounds to experiment with the worlds of the heard and the unheard. In our efforts to hear more and better, students will design impractical instruments, sniff out hidden frequencies, and perform for virtual audiences. We will look at objects that store sound, experiment with transmission and distribution, then tamper with the reception. We will sonify data, visualize sound, and create graphic scores. We will solder, saw, and sculpt to acoustically couple with the world around us. All sounds are welcome.
