HIS 210 CONTESTING INDIA'S PAST

An introduction to the historical debates about South Asian societies from pre-history to the present. The course surveys the broad trajectories which have made South Asian pasts, and highlights the contests for the right to tell history throughout the centuries. Consideration is given to social, cultural, economic, and political issues.
