GWS 310 CHILDREN'S FILM AND MEDIA

In this course, we will explore the representation of gender, race, class, sexuality, ability, and culture in films and media marketed to children. We will deconstruct historical and contemporary materials as well as analyze media made by and for kids. We will use an interdisciplinary approach to aid us in our endeavor. Students should expect to watch 1-2 films per week in addition to course readings.
