A study of contemporary fiction and memoir about the family. In these narratives of intimacy and alienation, immigration and indigeneity, secrets and disclosure, and the search for and flight from home, we explore how stories of families are invariably histories of cultures. Works may include Unaccustomed Earth, Never Let Me Go, Fun Home, You Don’t Have to Love Me, and Sing, Unburied, Sing.
