An exploration of the history of Jews and Muslims in Europe, with a focus on the twentieth century. Major topics threaded through the course readings include assimilation; integration; citizenship; ethnic cleansing; nationalism; forced migrations; racism; genocide; and Europe’s ongoing reckoning with its colonial past and the Holocaust.
